What is my favourite treatment?

I often get asked this and it is a tough ask.  However undertaking tear trough rejuvenation has always been one of my favourite treatments to perform.

This is the area which sits under the eye- where a tear drop would fall into.  People often notice it as a hollowing or an indentation and this can accentuate any darkness under the eye making an individual appear tired or less refreshed.  Unfortunately there is only so much concealer can do to help disguise this area.

I still remember the first lady I treated. She was in her late twenties and constantly being told how tired she looked even when she wasn’t. I injected small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler (my filler of choice is Volbella- part of the premium juvederm vycross range) under her eyes which immediately plumped up the area.  She was so happy with the results which were instant and made her appear well rested in an instant.  The top picture shows the area untreated, the bottom picture is a selfie my client sent me to show the difference post treatment.

What I really enjoy about treating this area is what an impact it can make in a really natural and subtle way.  I also enjoy undertaking the procedure as it is a delicate area where you utilise all your injecting skills.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before any injections however in my experience this a treatment which people tolerate really well with very little or no pain at all.

How does it work?

Filler is able to address the indentation directly by lifting the skin so there is a smoother contour between the eyelid skin and cheek.

Please note this is an advanced procedure requiring experience and expertise. It is also important to know which filler your practitioner is intending to use and their level of experience. The skin around the eyes is very thin and it is important to bear this in mind when treating this area so that too much filler is not placed giving an unnatural look.

Also be aware that there are also situations I encounter where someone feels that they are in need of tear trough filler but what they really require is a cheek treatment which can indirectly improve the tear trough area. Therefore a thorough consultation is important prior to proceeding with any treatment.
