Facial Contouring and Highlighting With Dermal Filler Not Make-Up

I admit I have spent many an hour watching make-up gurus work their magic on youtube. What I find fascinating is how they use their products to achieve a more contoured and beautiful face and how this is the exact same aim within aesthetics, we just have different tools to work with. I feel that the most successful make-up artists and aesthetic practitioners have a deep understanding of natural beauty and facial proportions.

We have all seen the overly contoured faces on Instagram and also the faces that have been plumped up excessively with dermal filler. In these cases make-up and dermal filler is now serving to detract from an individual’s natural beauty and features instead appear unnatural and sometimes a little strange.

Dermal filler can produce truly beautiful results. Cheekbones can be sculpted to appear higher, jawlines can become more defined, noses’ can be contoured with dermal filler so that they appear straighter or slimmer. So much can be achieved but I feel the most important aim is to still look like you and to appear natural especially as dermal filler cannot be washed away like make-up can.

See a practitioner who you trust, someone experienced who will say no if the particular treatment in question is not in a person’s best interest or will detract from their natural beauty. Make up is fun and experimenting is part of that. However when it comes to dermal filler I would advise a more cautious approach and not be over influenced by what is in fashion (over plumped lips a case in point) but rather what will still appear beautiful and aesthetically pleasing with the test of time.
